Sara + Brendan September 9, 2017

Sara and Brendan's story is one that begins way back. Sara and Brendan both grew up in the small town of Port Elgin. Sara's sister, Dana, and Brendan's sister, Caitlyn, are best friends. Their families have long been friends, and so naturally, Sara and Brendan spent quite a bit of time together growing up in Port Elgin and at Brendan's family's cottage. Over the years, they grew closer, until finally, they found that they spent most of their time at the cottage together. After years of dating, Brendan proposed to Sara on Christmas morning.

Having grown up in the same small town as Sara and Brendan (Sara was Jared's neighbour growing up, and Jared's sister, Bethany, is one of Sara's best friends, and a bridesmaid), it was exciting for us to meet with them and to hear about the festivities that they had planned for their wedding day at Saugeen Golf Club. It was easy to see how excited they were to share the day with all of their family and friends from near and far.

On the morning of their wedding day, we met Sara, the moms, and the bridesmaids at the salon for hair and makeup. Later, we caught up with the girls again at Sara's parents' house. Sara's sister and mom helped her into the dress, as Caitlyn and Bethany looked on. Sara's dad, Paul, was wowed when he saw her in her dress for the first time.

Before heading out, Sara read Brendan's heartfelt letter, in which he wrote of how he never imagined years ago when they were swinging in the hammock at the cottage that they would one day marry.

Our next stop was Sara and Brendan's home, where we found Brendan getting ready. After he donned his jacket, cuff links, and tie, he read Sara's letter, where she fondly wrote of their years together and how fortunate she felt to be marrying him.

Soon after, we arrived at Saugeen Golf Club, which would serve as venue for the day's festivities. In front of their family and friends and under the shade of an old tree, Sara and Brendan declared their vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife. After enjoying a few minutes with their guests, we took off in golf carts to explore the fields and paths throughout the sprawling grounds.

And as the sun began to set and we returned for the reception, many stories were shared about Brendan and Sara. We snuck out for a few minutes as Sara and Brendan watched the sun set over the horizon. Back inside, they shared their first dance as husband and wife, kicking off an epic night of dancing and fun.

Congratulations Sara and Brendan!!
